The Five Families Focus on Data Theft

On 1 May 2024, a threat actor known as The Five Families (aka. Five Families) posted to their Telegram channel that they gained access to servers owned by the government of the United Arab Emirates. The Five Families is a cyber criminal group specializing in the access, theft, and sale of data and shares a potential relationship with Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS) affiliates. The group appears to be financially focused and targets a wide variety of victims worldwide.
